François Lapointe, omv, rector of our sanctuary, attended a religious concert in Rome to benefit the children of Gaza:
The event, directed by one of his confreres, P. Pierre Paul, omv, brought together for the occasion more than 80 choristers and 40 instrumentalists. The evening was marked by a notable ecclesial and diplomatic presence:
– Cardinal Arthur ROCHE, Prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments,
– Mgr Vittorio Francesco VIOLA, Secretary of the same Dicastery,
– as well as 17 ambassadors, including the Canadian Ambassador to the Holy See, the Right Honourable Joyce NAPIER.
The musical quality, spiritual depth of the works performed and shared commitment to a humanitarian cause gave this concert a dimension that was at once artistic, fraternal and supportive.
The presence of Father Francis demonstrated our shared support for this charitable initiative, as well as our desire to remain close to those working for peace, dignity and help for the most vulnerable children.
